Born in Sénégal, at Dakar, Françoise spent her childhood in Indonesia on the island of Java and in France. When she was 12 years old, she migrated to Australia with her parents. Schooling and further education, work and travels in Australia and New Zealand.

She developed an interest in the visual arts whilst working as a teacher with children.
She returned to France during the 9O’s, where she taught. She then worked as a cook in an artistic educational centre for adults. This work filled with experiences allowed her to conjugate colours and tastes.

Discovery of India, of Goa, its colours, and its impressions for 2 years, where she taught children and adult groups visual arts.
Attendance in a school of Art in Switzerland, for 2 years at the Assenza Maleschule in Basel, where she immersed herself in the work of colour, etching and printing, drawing, etc.
Her time is now divided between Europe and Australia, varied, contrasted lands that are a continual source of inspiration.

Work technique

The central starting point of her work is nature, as well as the intense contemplation of her surrounding and close environment, until she immerses herself in the visible.
Her work is not a direct representation of nature, although we may be able to find rocks, water scenes, subtle representations of plants, and landscapes. Her sight detaches itself from the panorama to finally centre itself on structures, and then to “zoom in” to details, to the infinitely small.  The world of colour, the play of light, and the relationship of colours motivate her to look with more attention, and that allows the viewer to perceive the world in another manner.
